How to Create a Unique Logo

Designing Your Business Communication

When it comes to company branding, having a great logo that people come to recognize instantly is a key element in the strategic branding process. Everyone knows who those golden arches belongs to, everyone knows the red and blue globe for Pepsi, and anyone who drives a car can probably point to half a dozen or more car logos and tell you who manufactures them. Small companies can use that same strategy to get their brand in front of customers too. All it takes is the time to sit down and create your own unique logo.

What type of logo you design will be what represents you or your company the best. Some logos are based on a signature, and some of the biggest casinos in Las Vegas have a signature logo on them and certain clothing manufacturers/distributors also use a famous signature for branding. Some logos use a stylized representation of an animal which may be a part of a theme, or may be part of a name. A certain rabbit comes to mind in one respect, while a yellow deer in a green background comes to mind for others.

Some logos are strictly the company name in a font that is representative of the company’s products, concepts or ideals. Over a dozen logos come to mind with that description, from grocery stores to computer makers. And often, a representative concept or ideal that is the company name can be creatively built into a logo, so that the logo itself becomes representative of the entire company.

There are lots of ways to make a logo, but only a few will become that ubiquitous name that everyone knows. Time spent in careful planning and designing your logo will pay off in the long run.
