Need Logo Tips? Think Simplicity and Audience

Designing Your Business Communication

Whether you run a Fortune 500 company or a small corner coffee shop, having a clever, catchy, and creative logo is crucial to your company’s success. All businesses, large and small, have one thing in common: a logo. Many companies can be identified by one thing and one thing only, and that is their logo. Examples: The Nike Swoosh, the Izod alligator, McDonald’s golden arches, Apple’s little apple with a bite out of it, Mercedes three-point star, and Shell petroleum’s yellow and red “shell.” The logo is the key to branding your business.

Who wouldn’t want their business’ logo to be world renowned? We don’t know if our logo tips here can make your logo world famous, but we do know that by keeping it simple and keeping your audience in mind, your logo will be noticed and will help identify what your company represents. In many cases, a customer just needs to see a logo to know the product is worthy of his business. For this reason, you have to put a great deal of thought and effort into logo design. You cannot rush designing your company’s logo, and if you feel you do not have the knowledge and skills to design an effective business logo, then you must seek out assistance. Any money invested in hiring expert logo designers will come back to you in the long run. Check out these logo tips gathered by PaperDirect from some logo experts:

First and foremost, keep your logo simple. The simpler the logo, the easier it is to recognize. A logo does not need to be fancy to be effective. People process an image in their minds more readily than words alone. Also, the simpler the logo is, the easier it will be for the logo designer to re-size and re-color it for other purposes. Most businesses have various versions of their logo (in various sizes) such as web versions, print versions, black-and-white versions, and color versions. If your logo is simple, it will be easy for designers to adjust it for different types of advertisements and placements.

Never forget that your logo is solely for your audience (potential customers/clients). Your logo must appeal to your customers. You must be unselfish when it comes to logo creation. If you are the only person who “gets” your logo, then it’s useless. Your logo must also match what you’re trying to provide or sell. If you’re in the mortuary business, you certainly don’t want a festive, flashy logo. Keep in mind the nature of your business and who your audience is and you should be able to come up with a great logo that will be easily recognized by the masses in no time at all.

Here are 5 Tips on Creating a Great Logo from PaperDirect’s blog that will help get you started.
