Small Business Tip #9 – Email Campaigning 101
Grab the attention of online shoppers by launching a holiday email campaign. Build trust with your audience and watch the sales roll in. Here’s how!
Set up an email service.
For example, MailChimp allows customers to subscribe to your e-newsletter via your website or social media pages so they never miss a special offer or update from you. On the back end, you can see details about customer activity on your website and if they opened your emails.
Schedule a holiday series.
Send a few emails to coincide with the holidays. Key dates to hit the “send” button include Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday, each Friday before Christmas, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. And, don’t forget to also promote New Year’s deals!
Offer helpful, money saving information.
So, what should you share? Plan to send a mix of coupons, limited-time offers, free online shipping codes, helpful how-to articles, links to social media pages, reminders of holiday hours and seasonal tips relating to your business. For example, if you sell candles, give readers tips for incorporating them into a holiday centerpiece. If you’re an electrician, tell readers what safety features to look for on holiday decor to avoid an electrical fire.
Launch the holiday campaign with a simple postcard mailer reminding customers to visit the website and subscribe to the e-newsletter to get the latest sales and information without waiting for the mail carrier.
